My family and I are making our move back to the US on Nov 19, so I'm just curious to see if anyone has just made the trip into the US recently?

We did travel there from Sweden in June, and while it was nothing special, everything went fairly smooth and all. Just a COVID-19 check at PoE and that's it.

Guessing nothing has changed since then, what I can read and no new rules of quarantine or anything.

We'll be arriving in Chicago and then flying to Salt Lake City. I can't even remember if we have to gather our checked luggage in Chicago but assume not. Only have a 2 hour layover and we need to go through customs and all. Would be nice not having to worry about the bags...

I flied via Tokyo to Dallas Fort-Worth then connected to Nashville. Same as usual, you need to claim your luggage at the 1st point entering US for customs. In my case, even though I booked one ticket all through and checked through my luggage to Nashville, I still had to pick up my luggage in Dallas Fort-Worth, then put them back to the aisle when I got to my connecting flight.

Well .

Thanks for the heads-up! I sort of knew it but wasn't sure. Last time we flew we spent a night in Chicago and the next flight was with a different ticket so, it didn't apply there.

I used to transit at Chicago too but always with more than 2 hrs layover. Not sure if it's tight for you as you'll need to change terminal.

Yeah it's going to be a bit crazy. We've got 2 hrs. And we'll have 2 extra checked bags, and a 4-yr old.

At least it's not hot and humid, it was terrible in June! :)
