I really don't understand the phobia of counting mail-in ballots early. It's efficient and HELLO it doesn't create a freakin' mess for everyone to sort through. It works for our state, and it didn't seem to detract anyone from voting during early vote period or on election day either. The lines were around blocks.

The laws reflect the days of absentee ballots, a few folks overseas or on vacation.

Washington state is already training other states how their mail in system workd. The model works. The system is quite good , but not all elements could be copied at the last minute. Our secretary of state is pushing for uniformity in the state laws, this election may do that.

The only thing I miss are the sweet old ladies checking my registration and the I voted sticker.

If you're meaning the person only voted for the President and not for anyone else on the ballot and left it blank...?  I'd be interested to know if they were R's or I's that did it, but I actually know a few that marked their ballots that way in MD. Even when offered the chance to write-in, they just left it blank as a sort of protest. Personally? I did it with our two R candidates that got put on the ballot after committing fraud - no way would I vote for 'em. Left it blank and didn't see the point in writing in a random name.

yeah, there a lot of people who came out just to vote for president.

i have never voted for a president/official ever, i only voted directly on issues. registered independent.

but this time i def made sure to vote for president and a few other things i took time to research. left a lot of the rest of the ballot empty.

That was my biggest motivation to vote. In most elections.

Right? Those people are so funny. And they never learn. It took a pandemic, tons of mail-in ballots, and fraud to likely win by a tiny margin. The whole thing is a circus. I'm even happier now that I'm moving to PR next year because I refuse to pay any taxes that go to a Biden  Harris government.

i hate the culture wars but really most of america's issues cant be address because of them. but also journalists are not politicians, but observers.

theres a reason why more mono-cultural societies can have a plethora of social services and goods for people without the "socialist" boogey man becoming an issue while the trope of the "welfare queen" with brown skin has people in trailer parks and low-income rural areas voting against their best interest consistently. or why people feel their personal religion should stop someone else's freedom/choice.

its impossible to ignore bc both sides use them as a wedge issues. when someone runs a campaign basically dog-whistling that blacks and central american latinos will ruin your neighborhood and still get a reasonable amount of votes, thats indicative of a deep rooted issue.

a president cant fix it, but its the truth.

Trump is not going to get 270. With the outstanding absentee votes to count in Michigan and PA it will be very hard for Trump to get there

Why else would he have thrown the hissy fit that he did last night

Hissy fit it was!
