Applying for Adjustment of Status for Martin (F-1 student visa currently in good standing). For AOS 485 form, they request applicant to "provide physical addresses for everywhere you have lived during the last five years." We decided to include the three months Martin spent in Berlin on a fellowship in the middle of his current school program, but are unsure whether to include all times he left the US and try to match the arrival/departure list. Should we include holidays he spent at home not working (~4 weeks in December)? Is there a good rule of thumb to know how much time out of the country constitutes its own entry? Martin lived in the same apartment before and after his time in Berlin -- do we repeat the first address to make sure there is no overlap/gaps in the dates?

Thank you!

Every time you leave and enter is considered an entry.

If its time spent at home the it would already by covered by all the places he has lived

Yes if he lived there in 2016 for example and then again in 2018 you would list it two times

Thank you both! Apologies, I should have clarified for this question:

Is there a good rule of thumb to know how much time out of the country constitutes its own entry?

Is there a good rule of thumb to know how much time out of the country constitutes its own address listing on the form?

And for smaller trips (a week in Canada for a conference, two weeks home for Christmas, etc) when he left the country, would we also list those addresses to match the I-94 arrival/departure record?

No need for vacations. Only places that he lived at
