Hi folks!

I would like to have your advice or if you could share information that would be great appreciated!

Background:

I moved to Seattle WA and get married with on Dec 8, 2018 through K1, we filed AOS at Jan 2019.

Today(Nov 1, 2020)as I check my case status from USCIS website and see this information: “As of October 6, 2020, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number XXXXXXXXXX, for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice.”, however I do not receive mail for this yet.

Questions:

1. Do you know how long I would expect the mail? From Oct. 6, it’s been 3 weeks.

2. Do I need to call USCIS to check whether this mail missed?

3. Do you know if there is an interview date indicated in the mail?

4. If the interview date they require before Dec 8, 2020, can I request postpone after it? As I heard that if the interview happened after 2 years marriage I will be granted a 10 years green card without conditions.

5. If I am allowed to postpone after Dec. 8, what process should I do?

6. What do we need to prepare for this important interview? I want to do it by ourselves because we may not be able to afford hire a lawyer.

Thank you so much for your time and sharing! I love this forum, I have seen many people are nice and friendly supporting each other!

According to :

https://www.rahgozarlaw.com/marriage-green-cards-removing-the-conditions-on-your-permanent-residence-and-new-policy-updates/#:~:text=The type of green card,a 10 year green card.

The type of green card you receive will depend on how long you have been married on the date the officer makes their decision, which is usually the date of the interview. If you have been married more than 2 years at the time of the interview, and are approved for your green card, you will receive a 10 year green card.Dec 19, 2018

Yeah I just wonder if I get the notice say interview date they set at November 15(before 2-year marriage) as an example, can I make a request postpone it to December 15(after 2-year marriage) so I can be granted 10-year GC?

You are worried about nothing.   If you have not received a scheduled interview notice by now you won't have an interview until  sometime in 2021.

Depending on your local office tbe wait can be anywhere from 3 mos. to 2 years for an interview

YMMV

But on October 6, 2020, just 3 weeks ago they updated my case on their website(I didn’t notice it until today), I just not received physical mail yet. Should I wat or should I call them to ask?

And you won't until you actually are scheduled.   As of right now you are in a queue waiting for an interview spot

YMMV

Ready to Schedule is different from Interview was Scheduled. You will only receive a letter with the date after your status change to "Interview was Scheduled".
