Ok, I was called at 6:22 in the morning.

He had young blond girl, she asked him questions, he answered.

Then she handed him a form, wants him to bring back the court paper that saying "Nothing" instead of having a line in it meaning 'nothing.' And english translation of course.

When they ask you to bring something, do they give you your passport back if everything is ok, or would they keep it if everything is ok? Or they only take the passport when they are ready to stamp it. This is a point of concern for us, but maybe we are thinking TOO hard?

I think the form says "Optional form 195" and the box is checked 221g

Can't think straight to search the answer right now. :help: Add to the confusion I remember reading something about blue and pink forms but I wasn't paying attention at the time. This paper is white, anyway. I think I was reading about something else? :help:

BT

If I cause offense it is not on purpose, think about that before you take offense. If you feel offended, consider that maybe I'm not talking about you and maybe I accidentally stumbled onto a sore area and do not know. Thank you.

They do not keep your passport. After he has been approved and final name checks done, they will call him and ask him to bring in his passport for the visa. No need to worry at this point. Your doing fine. It sounds like all they are waiting for is the court paper and then they will do the name checks. Relax...the hard part is over for now. Just a bit more of waiting. Congrats!

It is probably the court paper or the police report. There is a space where it asks if he has ever been arrested, convicted, something like that. The officials in Morocco tend to just draw a line in that space if there is nothing to report, but the consulate wants the actual word "nothing" and they do want the English translation, also with the word "nothing" in that space. This has happened to a number of people.

I think the blue and pink forms are for a different consulate, not Casa. It sounds like he received a 221(g) requesting additional information. Check the form very carefully and make sure there is nothing on it saying they are returning the petition to USCIS. Saying the petition requires additional administrative processing means the usual name check, but the word "returning" would need attention from you quickly.

They may or may not keep his passport. If they didn't keep it, it's not necessarily a bad sign. Without actually seeing the 221(g), it sounds like they just need that paper corrected and translated again. It sounds like you are almost done, so hang in there. Just FYI, when my fiance was called in to pick up his visa, they turned him away on two different days saying a machine was broken, and that has happened to others, so if your SO lives far from Casa, it would be good for him to have a place in mind in Casa to stay overnight if that should happen.

OK OOPS didnt see ths one....

What they are looking for is his court record to say NEANT with the line through it and the stamp in the line..... I read others had problems with this so I made sure my hubby got what Casa is looking for.

The good news is I believe you are all good if they asked you to bring it back....he should do so ASAP! I am sure they will ask him for his passport at this time.

This happened to one of my other friends and they brought the paper back the next day and he had his visa within 10 days.....

So -- be happy this is a good thing!!!

Good Luck with getting the court paper!!

Phew!

I must have overlooked the part about specifically having it say 'nothing.'

I'm sure he will feel better reading this. I think he should be home soon. He will either be talking to family and friends about it or go straight to the computer. Or maybe take a nap. I imagine he will take care of the court paper today. I imagine there are still a few working hours left over there, so it is possible.

Thanks for the quick answers, and thank you everyone who came to the slumber party (F)

Shukran! Thanks!

I won't put up a review until it is actually over.

I think the rating on casa might be a little off, some people sounded lik they had smooth easy time and the interviewer was nice, but they didn't give any stars. Wouldn't that skew the results to be worse than they really are?

They do not keep your passport.

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't, but keeping it is a good sign that they believe it won't take too long.

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'
