I was waiting ages for my n-400 application with no response, i not sure if anyone is keen about submitting a petition together to the senate or the house just to ensure they have enough people to clear the n-400 backlog.

How long have you been waiting? I filed September 2019 so I am now in month 15 of waiting and my estimated completion date is January 2021. Many of us Seattle filers have written to congresspeople with mixed results. Those waiting over 2 years in Seattle seemed to get a response to their letters but those of us waiting less than 2 years didn’t even get the courtesy of a reply.

congress does not control immigration and a petition would not help your cause

they make the laws and rules but do not tell immigration what to do

A letter and / or petition would get this response (i know because i got one)

"we know all are concerned with immigration at this time" and blah blah blah but you can let them know of your concerns and the BS you all go thru

contact the committee thru this webpage

https://www.hsgac.senate.gov/contact

or mail them  directly to this address:

U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs
340 Dirksen Senate Office Building

Washington, DC, 20510

You do know Senate is part of Congress, right?

You know legislature branch to exercise oversight over the executive branch? this is part of the constitution....

I am just suggesting if we all together write a letter to a congressman or senator, since we are the future voter, it might be able to push them a little.

I havent wait as long as you, but I am still a bit frustrated, I am sure there is something we could do about it. if we all act together.

good  God yes,  i was born in the USA ) along with my parents and grandparents

the OP said wanted to send a petition to senate and house and i gave her the senate  committee address for HOmeland security which is in charge of immigration laws

that is a place to start

the OP can look up all the senators and house members on the various committees to send them personal messages

just google this info

and the legisative brand is the oversight so write to them too

i wrote to President,  Senate, House ,  secretary of state and Head of Immigration (at this time it is Tony H Pelham)

Like i said i got polite letters back saying all had concerns about immigration (even the White House -Obama at the time)

writing doesn't hurt / at least it lets them know how we feel

and i did go to my Senator for help who basically wrote letters for my but also said "they have no power to change immigration process"

They couldn't come together to help the American people a second time with COVID. Instead they took a vacation. You really think they care enough to help immigrants become citizens right now??!? 😂

Piggybacking on your point. An election in 2 days means nothing for the time being.

well many of us are waiting for couple of years, i dont think waiting for 2 additional months is such a big deal, and we will know who won the election in a week time, so whats wrong with starting to write a letter to them in one or two weeks?
