Welcome to another monthly thread for those going through NVC

 

Please read everything below and refer to it throughout your NVC journey, whether this is your first month at NVC or your third.

Before posting questions, please read the wiki Saylin wrote on the NVC process here. Once you're done, read it one or two more times to really understand it ;)Don't forget to also read the official form instructions as well as USCIS and NVC's websites!

Yes this thread was created by our great Queen Saylin and the knowledge is still going forward. This thread I pray stays alive and well as many who have gone through the process or still going can chime in and help and assist.

If you're wondering about time frames, look at the fellow members right here in this thread! Study their signatures/timelines and make notes. VJ also has this awesome page. Use it! I sure did during my process .  That means if you are on this thread WE expect you to have an up to date timeline.

 

Current case file creation time:

This is the link to go to see what date they are working on. Follow  it says up to 6 weeks but recently that 6 weeks is about 4 weeks from approval at USCIS.
Once your case has been created, we will contact you with instructions on how to begin processing. Until your case is entered into our system, we unfortunately won’t have any information about your case.

Current case review time:

This is the link to see what date they are reviewing. Please allow up to three-weeks for NVC to review your forms and documents once we receive both the petitioner’s financial documents and the applicant’s civil documents. You must also have paid all required fees and submitted your visa application online. We will not review your file until we have received all of the above items

Hi,

 

I was documentarily qualified for a IR-1 on September 8th 2020. I had to add a joint sponsor (submitted and the request was accepted on September 15th 2020) however the status is still saying submitted. Is this the delay to complete my case?

 

I received this email on September 8th: 

 

The National Visa Center (NVC) received all of the fees, forms, and documents that are required prior to attending an immigrant visa interview at a U.S. Embassy/Consulate General overseas.

NVC will work with the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in BRIDGETOWN, BRDO to schedule an interview appointment for you. Once we have confirmed an interview date, we will send a notice to you, your petitioner and attorney.

 

On September 15th I received: 

 

The National Visa Center (NVC) updated the status of your immigrant visa application. Please go to the Department of State's Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) at https://nvc.state.gov/ceac. You will need your NVC case number and invoice ID number to log into your account.

Once you have logged into CEAC, please look in your message box or on the Status Chart at the bottom of the page. If NVC has feedback on any items you submitted, there will be a new message with details. If not, please simply follow the updated instructions on your Status Chart to complete your case. If any column says "Pay Now", "Invalid Doc", "Incomplete", or "Re-Opened", that means you must take action by paying a fee, submitting a form, or uploading a corrected/missing document. 

Affidavit of Support Documents & Financial Evidence - Accepted 
Affidavit of Support Fee - Paid 

IV Fee - Paid 

IV Application - Completed 

Civil Documents - Accepted 

 

Priority Date: August 22 2019. However it still states on ceac my case is still at NVC.

My submitted files were reviewed last night, 8 days after submitting.

They requested the petitioners divorce papers and I sent it within 30 min of receiving the email.

I figure another week or so to review again, NOPE.

They checked it 7am this morning and I got my DQ email!!!

 

With covid closures it could take up to 2 years to get an interview, but at least knowing that I'm in line is still a relief.

Yes I know I am behind. Sorry for late reply. Been a crazy busy week.

 

Now you know your embassy is in March 2019 DQ's so quite sometime to wait. Sorry.
