Hi Guys,

I was checking my profile on USCIS webpage and under Estimated case completion time it says 12 months, but down there, under Estimated wait time in case status, says 6 months. Both of them used to be the same and 12 months, but now the case status says 6 months and changed. What can I infer from this date change?

Thanks.

Same here..

I think that means when you would hear on next status update. That could be a biometrics scheduled or whatever next step might be.

It's also worth mentioning that those dates don't mean much according to internet, so we'll see..

Yes. Let's wait and see. Interestingly, when again refreshed my profile after posting, noticed even the completion time went down to 9 months than 12 months it was before. Seems they are updating all the related dates, I'll check tomorrow in the hope of seeing even earlier dates like 1-2 months :D

Filed I-751 Nov 2019. Case is at WAC/CSC and still pending. Filed N-400 online under 3 year rule on 11/9/2020. Local office is San Francisco. Received notice that my I-751 was transferred to NBC but no update since then. I'm hoping for a biometrics reuse notice soon like the rest of you all.

Like the folks above, my estimated completion date for my N-400 also went from Dec 2021 to Aug 2021 -- hopefully I get lucky and that actually holds true.

Same story here.....My case went to NBC too. Filed (under 5-yr rule) on Nov 10 2020. No notice of biometrics reuse yet. And the completion date has slipped from May -> June -> August. Not great obviously but also to be expected, I suppose.

Need a crystal ball to predict USCIS timelines!

pretty much same here... my completion date from July -> August -> September.

but I got notice of biometrics reuse on December 11.

let's the waiting game begin~

my friend submitted his application on July and he hadn't gotten anything other than USCIS email that they received his application.

The issue is that it's not the same experience for every candidate even if the process is the same. Mathetically yes, you only need to get 60% to clear the interview. And of course I'd imagine everyone is going to be prepared as best as they can hope to be. That doesn't mean everyone fares equally or handles that sort of stress equally well.

Also some of these questions are super easy while others could challenge a fair number of US-born citizens.

You are right! I actually went through some of the questions with my US born husband. Which knows his history and is pretty smart. Many questions he did not know the answer to. We will be studying together, well he can help me.

Posting on behalf of my friend, who mailed her paper application, which was received at the Dallas, TX location on November 17th (according to the USPS tracking number). Yesterday, December 28th, she received a text message with a case number that indicates it was received on December 17th (exactly a month later) and is being processed at the National Benefits Center. Her field office location is Houston, TX.

Do they always send cases to NBC first?

I'm not sure but this case has a fee waiver request so maybe it's related to that? I'd be curious to learn more if anyone knows how the fee waivers are handled.

Are they requesting your spouse attend the interview (assuming you’re filing on the 3 year rule).

Just curious as to having additional people there due to COVID etc!

Sorry for the late reply! As I understand from reading the appointment notice, the only additional person allowed to attend interview is a translator if needed.
