We got the email to redo medical and then they would finish the visa. My questions are:

What happens after you receive the visa?

Do you have time to make plans for travel?

What plans should be made in regards flights and what flight should we do?

And what should expect with layovers and then getting to the US?

We need any info you can give please?🙏

The visa should be valid for about 6 months after the new medical date.  But check the visa when you get the passport back to make sure you you travel (and enter the USA while it's valid).   You should expect a delay between first entering the USA and any domestic connection.

My husband is talking of getting a flight that will take him to Ethiopia not get off the flight but pick others up and then go to Detroit. Is that a good idea?

That is true but there is only one that takes flights that departed from kenya.

I don't understand your question then.  You would need to provide more details on his flights to get better answers.
