DS160 and not scheduling an appointment (split)

hey guys, I plan to renew my J1 visa at Delhi, filled DS160 form and submitted and then submitted visa fee as well. but then drop the idea due to some family reasons. Can you suggest that what should I do to my DS 160 already submitted?

I emailed the US tarvel docs , they gave me generic answer, that  DS160 is valid up to 1 year. Is that my active  DS 160 and then not making any appointment stands bad against my US embassy record?

Thanks for help

Please do not hijack another member's thread next time.  Anyway...

There is no problem with having a DS-160 on file and not setting up an interview appointment.  US immigration officers understand that people can change travel/life plans.
