Hi guys!

I just wanted to share a glimpse of hope with you. 🤞

Our ROC (SRC) was moved from Texas SC to Lee's Summit in April of 2020 (that's 14 months from sending the paperwork).  Luckily, we caught movement on the old site (but did not receive notification by snailmail as we were supposed to). That movement didn’t reflect our USCIC account

In fact, there were conflicting information on them. The old site stated that our ROC was transferred and a new office has jurisdiction, while the new site still showed a note saying – we have received your case and you don’t have to do anything at this time.

We sent out email inquiry to www.uscis.gov/e-request about our missing notification and waited a month (as suggested by their generic response). After waiting a month and a half and no information, I gave them a call and I was told they will send the notification by mail.

We finally got notification in the mail in July.

Since my citizenship window opened 02/2020 I applied for citizenship on-line in February of 2020.

In October I was given a date and time for my citizenship interview with ROC still pending.

My citizenship interview is scheduled for 11/02 and I was going nutz thinking about my pending ROC.

Yesterday, 5 days before my interview, I have received a call from the USCIS (a real person not a recording) reminding me of my interview and informing me that in order to get to the citizenship part of the interview my husband should accompany me to the interview because I have 751 pending and that needed to be adjudicated first.

I hope all of you immigration warriors will start moving with your process as well!!! I am keeping fingers crossed for all of us....

Happy Thursday…

I got a regular notification for my biometrics, both by snailmail and i saw it on my USCIS account. Biometrics appointment didn't take long at all.

As far as citizenship study, i downloaded USCIS app on my phone and did that every chance i got. But also printed a hard copy from their site too https://my.uscis.gov/prep/test/civics . There are questions relevant to the state we live in so that was a good catch.

Let me know if there is anything I can help with!!

Good luck :)

Okay. I live in Tampa Fl too. Because, I heard you get a book to study from when you go to the biometric interview. My aunty told me that’s what she got. It was like 100 questions in that book. She brought it home and study. Yea, I go on the website that I used to check my case and try to answer questions too.

hi Tampa 😊

Now when i think about it, you are correct...i got booklet too but totally forgot about it 😂 my biometrics feels to have happened a million years ago...

There is a booklet available for printing on USCIS site as well. It has a bit more information with the questions..choose what works best for you to help you study. They will ask 10 questions out of which we have to have 6 correct..also don’t forget about the reading and written part of the test...

Lol. I meant biometric. Yea, I remembered my aunty got a book After she did her biometric. The book contains 100 questions and they asked her six of it from that book. She didn’t need 10 because she passed all 6.

@katalaya

my interview today was surreal...I’m still thinking about it as I’m sipping on my bourbon 🥃...

we came a little early but were allowed to get in and get our number. My appointment was at 1:20 but our number got called an hour later...we were taken to the office...my husband was with me (as they have asked him to come) but he was  not asked a single question...the officer went through our paperwork but not really conducting an interview..i took it as verifying information...and without any transition  I was asked to read a sentence, write that same sentence, asked civics questions and told i was approved. My green card should be in the mail and my oath ceremony date will bE sent by snailmail....all in all maybe 30 minutes of combo ROC and citizenship....

you are next!!! No stress needed!!! And yes I stressed myself to do bone...

good luck to all you immigration warriors

Congratulations!

Given the huge timelines for ROC approval, I was also considering filing for N400 as soon as I am able, but didn't know how the process would be, if it would be any faster, or if it would be accepted at all. This post was super helpful - thanks for sharing your journey!

@katalaya Thank you 😀

my immigration journey started in June of 2016. That's when we sent our K1 package and I was still in my home country (Croatia).

Our N400 was sent 02/19/2020 and I got approved yesterday - 11/02/2020 so 8 and a half months. I also had ROC pending since 02/2019.

I hope I understood your question correctly and provided information you were asking about....

Thank you @Peot 😃

I was sure from the get go that I will be sending N400 when my window opens. Now i'm convinced that it was a good choice for me.

Looking at the individual processing times (ROC and N400) it would IMO just prolong my journey.

P That of course varies from case to case.

I saw ROC approved faster than mine, I saw cards produced without rhyme or reason way before normal processing time, but I also saw cases that linger in the system for more than a normal processing time.

We have sent ROC 02/2019 and it was still in the process when my N400 interview date was given.

N400 kinda pushed my ROC adjudication...

I really do hope you will get to the end soon.

I had a good soul rest sleep last night and I am crossing fingers that all of immigration warriors get to that point ASAP....

allison williams good luck GIF

...just a quick update guys...i have received 797 NOA in the mail today saying that since both ROC and N400 were approved I will not receive a green card in the mail. But instead after my Oath Ceremony I will receive a Certificate of Naturalization as a proof of my US citizenship..

wishing all of you immigration warriors a quick and positive progress 🤞🏻

more updates...hopefully it will help to get some kind of a timeline....yesterday I have received a notification saying my Oath Ceremony is scheduled. Document is still not uploaded so I don't have a date yet.

My account states completion date as February. I guess I will know more as soon as they upload N445.

I am also unsure what does it mean:

" ...and answer questions about your activity since your interview. "

Have a great day you awesome immigration warriors.
