That would suck to wait 20 month for the green card interview!!

I hope I get it before that but currently I don't even think about it. I've been waiting 6+ month for a biometric appointment with a job offer in hands and a case inquiry submitted.  Still they're taking their sweet time.

They're telling me that my field office (Austin, TX) has requested the appointment back in May but my case is stuck at NVC. So all that to say I wouldn't believe what some are suggesting that it depends where you live and as pablo is saying:

It's taken an age, however I just had my Biometrics appointment this morning, USCIS received my package on June 3rd and I have been working with my State Senators office to try and speed the process up.

If you are struggling without any movement I would suggest reaching out to your local State Senator, it's helped me unbelievably.

Did you have to send in proof of financial hardship when you wrote your senator?

My case was received by USCIS on August 3 and I am still waiting for my biometrics appointment. I submitted case inquiry and still haven’t heard a word. My Senator’s office contacted USCIS but that didn’t help - they said that they can’t expedite the process before the biometrics are taken and scheduling biometrics depends on the local’s office availability.

Do you know how your Senator helped you out with speeding up the biometrics appointment?

I put together a covering letter outlining financial hardship, I didn’t have to send any financial documents or anything though.

I had the same thing happen, the initial Expedite request was denied due to Biometrics not being done, my local Senators office went back and asked for the Biometrics to be pushed through. As soon as the Biometrics were complete, the Expedite was approved same week.

A close friend got his EAD and AP combo card issued last week WITHOUT the biometrics, for his AOS from an I-140. Filed late May/Early June. The section of the card where the fingerprint would be shown just has a note "Fingerprint Not Available" or something similar. He now just got an appointment to take the biometrics in December.

We filed for my wife's AOS from I-130 at the end of June with NOA1 of early July. No biometrics appointment yet. Hoping we get lucky too and get the EAD soon while the Biometrics backlog resolves.
