Technically I was an Army Captain when I got out, but in a year she will make Captain, and then go beyond that. But we are a team. I was enlisted first, and then an officer, so I know my way around the military. I involve myself as much as i am allowed to in her military career. I "walk the terrain" for her when she is given a task to complete. I do a recon. I do for her whatever I can to assist her career. And when you are prior service and know your way around the military and are able to project authority, I can do a lot on the military side of things for her. We are a team. But she is far superior to me in so many ways, and frankly I dont know how I was so blessed to have her as my wife.  She is a fantastic officer.  But I enjoy staying involved in the military as much as I can through assisting her... assisting us, assisting our family

Me :) Sometimes I have to assert that authority, but in the end it is always me.... But in all honesty, me being a little hard of hearing (from M-60 fire from neglecting ear protection at times, I think) tips the scales to me

That's good (the authority part not the hearing loss). Hearing skills (unintentional or intentional) are a good way of balancing the scales if you know what I mean.

You make me smile, brother.

Actually, one of the times I didnt have hearing protection was because I left it on the truck. The Sergeant said something like, "What do you think 'dummy chords' are for, dummy?" We were on the M-60 range for night fire

It's the first time it clicked in my brain what "dummy chords"  meant. I'm  such a dummy at times....

This isn't the appropriate site, I guess,to make this statement. But to all my prior service or current service brothers and sisters out there, I love you all. Being in the military makes everyone else who has been in the military feel like family. It is something special we share. Sometimes we disagree about things, but in the end we are family. We recognize differences of opinions (sometimes with difficulty), but in the end, at the last count, we love America,  we are brothers and sisters, we are Americans. Democrat, Republican,  Independant in the military, we are family. Thank you to my family, whom I belong to now, forever. God bless the USA on this election day. When you are out, for me at least, in my opinion, that is when you really realize how special this family is

And now Vienna, unclear if this is a RoP incident.

Vienna gunman, 20, who killed four and wounded 17 was released early from prison on terror charges because of his age, had wanted to join ISIS in Syria - but 'was deemed incapable of an attack'

Two women and two men were killed after shooting began outside a synagogue in central Vienna at 8pm

The gunman, armed with an automatic rifle, pistol and machete was 'neutralised' at 8.09pm, police chief said

Twenty-year-old killer Kujtim Fejzulai was jailed in April 2019 because he wanted to travel to Syria to join ISIS

He was granted early release in December under juvenile law. He was not deemed a threat, one report said

Shocking footage shows a man wielding an assault rifle and sprinting through the streets before firing shots

Seven of the 17 victims being treated in hospital are in a critical, life-threatening condition

Manhunt is ongoing as it remains unclear if Fejzulai was the only shooter - gunfire heard in six areas of the city
