Round 3... interview tomorrow

After all the confusion and frustration, I got a reply from the Embassy telling me to have Mohammed at the Embassy at 10 am tomorrow morning to complete his interview.

This has been crazy today. I woke up and no email so I figured I wouldn't hear from them until tomorrow. Well, I'm sitting at my desk thinking I should check my home email just in case. Rarely can I get it to open because our server here is too slow, but walla! today it opened and there was the consular email. I squeal. Then I'm thinking I should run home and call Moh to tell him so he has enough time to gather himself to go in the morning. I'm whining to myself that I don't want to pay the money for the phone call. Walla again. My desk phone rings "Good morning honey!" It's Mohammed. Now he hasn't been able to call me during the day for more then a week because of internet troubles where he lives. I just start laughing at the irony. He is freaking because he doesn't understand why I am laughing (we have been so stressed). I gave him the news he went crazy. So yes indeed, the "embassy call center" in Egypt is worthless.

Part 2 of the craziness is that because of the 100 LE wasted on phone calls and 2 trips to Cairo and home, the guy was flat broke. I wanted to send him a little money to cover all this, but I too was busted until this morning. When I was talking to him we both looked at the clock and I quickly wired him the money and (enshaa allah) he has just enough time to go pick it up so he can travel tomorrow.

Could this get any crazier??? Anyway, one more night of nerves awaiting interview attempt #3. I am praying "third time's a charm" holds to be true. I promise you guys after this I will stop blabbering away so much on here. At least I will try.

Good luck on the interview and looks like things have a way of working themselves out.

I agree, don't stop! The blabbering away helps the rest of us that are waiting to have something to distract us from the wait. Also, hearing other people's stories of confusion and incompetence in this process helps to prepare us for it when it slaps us in the face.

I really hope that things go good tomorrow and "the interview" is finally over.

I asked Mohammed what he will be taking with him tomorrow. He said "EVERYTHING!!! I dont want to go back again!!!" Poor thing.

I also don't know if it's appropriate or not, but I also sent a heartfelt thank you to the Embassy for the prompt attention and assistance. Just a short one. I wonder if very many people tell them thanks. I know one thing, if we can get through this, and the day comes his visa is in hand, I'll be happy to send them a big ole fruit basket!!!!!

Good luck tomorrow. I believe in life everything happens for a reason and when it should happen. The fact that all three things happen today for you -the email from the embassy, your husband calling you, and you finding money to send him - relates to the three times he has to go back to the embassy. Tomorrow is your day.

Wishing you all the best.

*CRIES*

You echoed my silent thinking exactly... You know, just to keep myself from taking everything so seriously and getting so intense, I downloaded a new ringtone on my phone last night which I found quite appropo. THE MISSION IMPOSSIBLE THEME!!! Now when my phone rings I bust up laughing. Oh the games we devise to keep from going mad through this process. It's really quite inhumane.

I agree, send the thanks. I always did, and whenever I wrote I always thanked them for taking time out of their busy day to read my e-mail, and acknowledged that they were probably overworked. Honey catches more flies than vinegar, so why not use it when you need results? Who knows, your thanks might just make them process the next person's file faster too, and then you've shared your happiness with another person waiting for their visa.

Maybe it was your mega mojo that kept this from being even worse. Why is it always in hindsight, things don't look as bad as they did when the sky was actually falling? Gads. By the way, to keep in the theme of the 3s... tomorrow is 3/30. haha.
