Right? We've never changed our habits because of the kung flu. I stumbled upon and beared I think it was a Maher interview on Kimmel where he talks about not being scared of this virus and that it couldn't even kill Christie. I said from the start that it's only the most vulnerable that need to be protected and shutting down things and keeping society on edge in this way is ridiculously destructive with little upside. The most insane of people refuse to look at the cost in the cost-benefit of lockdowns and other orders never mind the selective and often politically and religiously biased way its enforced. 

 

This virus hasn't dictated things to our family, only educated. Maybe people revise how they look at this, or maybe they don't, they can harm themselves as they please, we just have no part in it.

EGGzachary!!  I wear a mask when I am forced to, though I find myself pushing the boundaries more and more.  Like only donning my mask when asked to when entering an establishment.  I mean, if they ask me to, and I comply, then it is their rule, and I am complying.  I see more and more people doing this around here, and it makes my heart happy.  We are getting back to normal, albeit slowly.

Decided not to wait to test.  Went to a restaurant tonight, no mask, the server (who was wearing a mask) led us to a table,  never said a word.  Mask stayed in my pocket the whole time.

It truly does make me sad to see people not taking common sense precautions like wearing masks in places where they are warranted. It's polite to other people. Having lost two people to this disease, maybe I'm more sensitive. Neither of them were old or necessarily vulnerable to it, either. I do not wear a mask in many places -- at home; when I'm walking somewhere and no one else is around that isn't in my bubble; in the car; when I go to my husband's workplace and am in his office with the door closed (not a frequent thing). If I'm inside anywhere, I'm wearing a mask. Here, it's the law but beyond that, it's what I think is the right thing to do. 

 

I am not dining out at all right now because I don't need to, and the county health board reported today that dining in restaurants has been linked to 10-15% of the cases we are seeing right now in the county. Why should I take a risk to do something that's nice but not necessary? I'm not so big a baby that I need to have all my whims met. I am taking small and more than tolerable steps to help end this sooner rather than later. My husband saw differently from me last night and went out to dinner with his sister without telling me, breaking an agreement we had about this. I probably would have told him to go ahead, but I wasn't consulted as we had agreed. I am not happy about it -- he put his desire to do something fun above what we had explicitly agreed. Not happy, not cool.

 

I also understand I can't stop people from making choices they do. I do speak up and tell people to wear their masks or keep their distance where it's mandated, like in a store or waiting in line to get into a store. I'm always nice about it.

I am still wondering where the explanation is from Dr. Fauci regarding the fact that deaths from and with the Vid have been flat since early April.

Hopefully Fauci can take some time off from going to ballgames, ignoring his own advice, and trying to give himself celebrity status to be useful. I hope a re-elected Trump cans the guy.

I wonder what Fauci's plan is to rid of us this virus?  Seems to me that would be an impossible task.

We were told to stay home to flatten the curve.  We did that.  Now, we need to stay home because... well, we listened the first time, so why not do it again, for no reason?

 

Went out to eat twice yesterday.  Both times, did not wear my mask when I entered, waiting to see if I would be asked to.  Nope.  No one said a word.  Not even an evil look from the seated (the position where 'Rona is unable to get you) diners as I walked to my table.  Everything was copacetic.  And I infected exactly zero people.  Win win.
