Not for me but for my husband's adult son. He wants his girlfriend to visit from the UK. Planning to fly direct into the USA from Manchester, GB.

I thought the ban was still in effect, but can anyone clarify? She is a British Citizen, they aren't married etc....

I just want to clarify so I can advise him it may be good for him to see her rather than have a major disappointment come December.

Yes the ban is still in effect. They can meet up in a third country or she can visit another non-banned country for 14 days and then enter the USA. However with the rate of COVID rising in this country I wouldn't be surprised if there are more "travel bans" up ahead.

at this point you cannot fly directly from UK to USA unless they meet exceptions. In her case she wont be allowed to board

Very bad idea assuming she isn't a child under 21 of US citizen or LPR; has a sibling that is US citizen or LPR and both of them are under 21 and unmarried; or already has a child that is US citizen or LPR: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/visas-news/presidential-proclamation-coronavirus.html They should follow @Luckycuds's post:

Just because her ESTA is currently active, it doesn't mean she can enter the US. When she check-in online for the direct flight, CBP will revoke her ESTA within minutes: https://uk.usembassy.gov/information-for-nonimmigrant-visa-applicants-following-the-coronavirus-covid-19-outbreak/

She can use her ESTA to enter once she had quarantined, many on here have done it. Mexico seems popular.
