I got it 3 times too :( last one I got( in October) it was the one that says other under Privacy Act, people that had interviews this week assured me that  is the correct one. IDK.... I have my interview in 2 weeks.

Well I guess I’m going for a 4th time. At least the turn around seems quick.
The frustrating part is that I brought the expired one that looks like the one that was posted above with the privacy act and I said I need the same thing and this is what I got.

Good luck on your interview!

The one that you got has the word "RCMP National Repository Entire Holdings"  on it though, which is something that keeps getting mentioned when I look up police certificate, while on the right one it is nowhere to be seen, which is what confuses me.

Anyway, I hope you get what you need! :D

FWIW, I'd been so worried about this problem that I decided we would order both available police reports, yes pay for both, and yes upload both to CEAC. This was due to having read stories here of both types being denied and both types being accepted, even though (at the time) there was clearly a right one and a wrong one. The commissionaire said it wasn't necessary to order both, and firmly said he knew which was the right one. Maybe he was right, but even if he was, that doesn't mean all the people processing paperwork would know what was right. We figured if one of the reports was wrong, we'd still be covered. Or if the NVC or consulate people processing our paperwork were wrong, we'd still be covered.

Reading this thread recently and others, it's sounding like the reports may have changed again, which would be why the US sites haven't been updated to match again. (Just speculation, obviously I don't have special insider info.) But if our current police reports expire before the interview and entry, then I'll once again suggest we re-buy both (or however many there are), just to avoid this potential problem.

Yeah so this is kind of what I am doing. I went back today to point out that I needed under the privacy act and that is not what I got. The lady assured me that this is what they are asking for NOW with the seal etc however I said I would like to order the other one so she did.
I rather have both especially after this long wait.

Hello, a friend of mine had their interview done in Montreal on October 26th, 2020.

They had their visa refused because of their police criminal background check under the privacy act. The one they handed to the officer at the consulate said “Privacy act request type: Other.” It was not expired, and actually completed on October 10th, 2020.

To my knowledge, this is actually the correct one.

Has anyone else in Canada struggled with this? How did you resolve it?

Hello OP. How did your friend resolve this issue? Be specific to help others who have read your thread and are concerned about their own case interview.

Please update your thread.  Thanks
