How long does it take to hear back after a RFE

It’s being 28 days since USCIS updated my status to say Response to RFE has been received. I have an EAC number (Vermont Center).  Should I be worried, or concerned? I am eligible to file N400.

If you have a USCIS account I think those updates have sort of slowed down for some reason. The updates that I have been receiving have been pretty consistent up until recently. We didn't get any notification on AOS GC approval or that the card was being produced. I got the card a little less than a week later and the system updated to card has been delivered. On top of that our initial interview was actually rescheduled but that did not update in the system either so it sounds like things are happening in the background but the system updates are lagging. Good luck with your application : -)

i would agree as they have stopped or let go many of the subcontractors due to 2 things'

senate  did not approval for 1.2 million from Congress they asked for / they got a reprieve to take them to end of this year

USCIS Claims It's Strapped for Cash, Requests Emergency Funding From ... It's asking Congress for an emergency bailout of $1.2 billion.

they also had approved fee increase and that was stopped

USCIS Fee Increase Blocked by California Federal Judge

so,  even though they are working many still work at home and offices here have skelton staff
and data entry and answering phones is the last thing on their minds and not getting done

As long as you got the status "received RFE" you are well within normal processing (unfortunately) They took over 2 months for them to respond after they received mine.

If citizenship is your final goal, file the N400 if able. As long as your file has not been transferred to your local office you are looking at minimal extra delays (I would say 2 to 3 weeks) and actual decent changes to have the process move faster

Are you saying if my file have not been transferred to my local office and I file N400 while waiting on the RFE response, there is a possibility that it will make the process faster? Then I will have a combined I-751 and N400 interview ?

That is what I'm saying, the N400 gets priority. Your file will be forwarded to the NBC to process the N400 than, if everything is ok with that, sent to your local office to set-up the interview. There is a decent change you will get a combo interview (regardless of whether a combo interview was announced or not). Overall the move to the NBC cab cause a few weeks delay but that is about it.
