Hello all!

Anyone else currently going through the expedite process with London? Our case was expedited Monday but as of today is still reading in transit. Granted I think the NVC only actually sent it through on Wednesday and then Thanksgiving probably delayed things. I’m itching to get on the portal and book husbands appointment! We’re trying to move by mid January if possible but I just have no idea if that’s feasible. I have no idea what the availability is or when they release more appointments. Any ideas from those a bit further ahead would be much appreciated. ☺️

It normally takes about a day or two to get the case ready in London Embassy. Once the status is changed to Ready, register to appointment booking service and keep hunting for a slot! 😊 don’t forget abo booking your medical.
I think you should be fine with getting it sorted by mid of January! I got all sorted within less than a month the date of my case being Ready in London.

That is super useful, thank you! As of this morning I have access to the Embassy booking site, yay! I’m just going to keep refreshing and hope something comes up. My husband has his medical today. 👍

Appointment booked for 22 December! Only one day of trying, although admittedly refreshing literally all day! And I may have said a little prayer along the lines of “please please please please please” right before one actually turned up (seemed to work)! Now I’m hoping Christmas doesn’t majorly get in the way of them issuing the visa quickly although I suspect it will. Anyone know if the Embassy shuts down between Christmas and New Year?

Many Americans on staff take time off to go home to the US for Christmas so it could be slower because the reduced staff may be further reduced. Then again many may be choosing the sensible thing of skipping travel while this Covid surge is happening.

We just got the email saying that The U.S. Embassy or Consulate has accepted this case for expedited processing. I am trying to gauge how long in might take from getting the email to having the interview. Furthermore, how long does it take after the interview to get the passport back so we can arrange travel. I have just sent in my request to defer grad school in the US (which start in mid August) and am wondering if it may be feasible to be able to travel to the States already in a month - 6 weeks time! Any insight you can provide will be really helpful.
