EAD CARD HAS MY SURNAME SPELLED WRONG

Hey guys, I just recieved my EAD card with my surname spelled wrong. I've put the e-request on USCIS website and I have to send the card back to the Benefits Center. Has anyone experienced the same thing? My biggest question is : Can I start applying for jobs while my card is there and the error is being fixed? The I-765 I submitted to USCIS has my name spelled right and it is not my mistake. I'm so sad it happened and I'd like to start applying for jobs as soon as possible. Thanks a lot for your help, guys

Catch-22  You can't get hired without the card.

My last name was wrong on the card too. It took them 2 months to send me a replacement one. That was before covid. I applied for jobs even before I was approved. So there's no problem in applying for them.

 

The new card will come with the same dates of the first one, so technically you're already authorized to work. But you need to show the card when you fill out I-9, so you probably won't be able to start working until you get your new card back.
