File is still at NVC

I guess if you go for interview, you could also take a certified copy of you birth certificate, divorce and FBI report, in case you decide to get married.

We were planning on getting married in Hong Kong.  But incase it didn't work out (we were traveling in Philippines, Malaysia and Nepal for 3 weeks before) I had everything ready in case we had to do it in the Philippines.

Yeah just don't use it as a straw :)  It takes a lot to suck.   Use 2 bottles - One for "bad" water and one for good.   There are a few other options but those are easy to put in a backpack etc.

Thanks for the advice. I didn’t realize how convenient they are and the size is perfect.  Definitely puts me at ease with the water situation.

it is my hope that we can get married in the states.... but whatever will

happen will happen and it’s best to be prepared. I really appreciate you providing that information.

Forgive me for not being not being able to have your response included.  I don’t know how to do it.  It gives me great anxiety to hear this. My fiancé and I have an age gap of 13 years.  I’m the older one. We met towards the end of 2019. Travelled and met three times.  First meeting was 7 days and the last two were closer to 3+weeks each visit. Our travels are well documented.  We provided copies of our boarding passes and copies of our stamped passports. We also have a daughter now who looks just like him. She’s 6 months and we have documented our conversations in skype and WhatsApp since we have not been able to see each other. I am not sure what else we can do to prove the validity of our relationship. It’s a tough journey thus far.

Edited:  We met towards the end of 2017. We waited two years before applying for k1 in December, 2019.

Hello:

I hear a lot about Casablanca and age gaps.  How many years difference would be considered a red flag?

thanks,

Angela

I'm 20 years older, the age was not an issue with our case, it was my ex Egyptian husband who didn't file the divorce cert that nearly had us denied.

Oh gosh... I’m so sorry for that hiccup in your specific process; however, thank you for sharing this information. It definitely puts me at ease.  Now if they would just start processing k1s I’ll feel even better. :)Best, Angela

Forgive me if I'm wrong but you are doing the K-1 correct ?  I'm not saying it's going to happen, but be prepared. Pretty much anyone I've known who had an age cap of 10 years or more and did a K1 were denied. Getting married, especially if you have a child and then filing for the CR-1 visa is usually more successful. My husband and I have a 17 year age gap, me being the older one. I was also divorced and had a child from my first marriage. We never applied for a K-1 because I was living in Morocco at the time, so we got married after nearly 2 years of being together. We had no issues. In fact, my husband is about to go to his interview to become a naturalized citizen. Good luck to you and if you need any help or just need to vent, send me a message.

Thank you for sharing your insight and for your offer.   Yes we applied for the k1 visa for personal reasons, and are aware of the possible denial; however, we continue to hope for the best while preparing for the worse.

Congratulations to your husband on becoming a citizen.

Best,

Angela

I agree with 10+ years being of some concern to the Casablanca consulate. With that said, there are other factors to consider as well, such as how much time you have spent in person together, how much evidence you are able to include in your initial visa petition, etc. I've seen both K-1 and CR1 age gaps be approved in Casablanca, some with ease and some with a few additional AP hurdles.

My fiance and I have a 27 year age Gap. And his interview they didn't ask him one question about this. January 2021. The counselor was impressed that we had met four times.
