It hasn’t changed So I am not getting any false hopes. I’m also not getting confused. I truly understand that this process takes a very long time and anything can happen and that everything will not be ok. It’s already been over 2 years since I started the process and 18 months since we have been in administrative processing. So trust me, when I tell you I truly understand and don’t get my hopes up high I truly mean it

There are a couple of things you can do and here is my suggestions.

  1. You can file a case out of status with USCIS https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do
  2. You email the ombudsman (cisombudsman.publicaffairs@hq.dhs.gov) and they will auto-reply with a link to a form to file a follow-up. The ombudsman is an independent contractor not affiliated with USCIS and when they make an inquiry on your behalf USCIS will respond.
  3. Send a letter with all the details of your case to your U.S. representative's contact information can be found in this handy directory, and your U.S. senator's information is in this one.
  4. You can sue USCIS to make a decision on your case if it has gone too long. This is not recommended as it typically ends with a denial. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1a-FPirWXg2jSXHKXE_jocaOQuNMfib_4/view?usp=sharing
  5. Here are the cases that have been in adjudication for a very long time. Cases delayed no seem to be a walk in the park in comparison.

It's impossible to understand the process because there are so many influences acting on your case and at different times, and that information you don't have access to. This is an appropriate time to get a hobby because this is how it works for every step of the way.

The waiting doesn't stop there. Next you'll wait for your interview, after that you'll wait for the visa, after that wait for her/him to arrive in states, after that wait for SSN to arrive, after that wait to get married, after that wait for the marriage certificate, after that wait for the Green Card, after that... Do you see a pattern here yet?? It's all about waiting. The sooner we understand that the easier the journey.

My reason for replying is to help. If you understand that's great but for someone who is replying to your comments or questions, we opine with what we see or what we gather from the tone of your message. Good luck and stay engaged.

Thanks for all that information. I will wait and see what happens once we re-submit this DS-160 application again.
