Hello everyone! So after being in administrative processing for 18 months, and just recently asking for our case to be expedited, I have received an email today asking we resubmit the DS-160 form. Does anyone know what this might mean?

Administrative Processing can not be expedited.  But hopefully, the request is a good indicator.  Good luck.

I understand that. However every time I would email them after covid-19 they would tell me they weren’t processing it due to covid-19. And then I emailed them about my high-risk pregnancy and after a month they have emailed me back asking us to re-submit the DS-160 form.
I was just wondering if our case were to still be in AP, would they even ask for us to re-submit our DS 160.

My gut feeling is that your visa is that your case is about to be looked at again and this time you will get issued

I really hope so, as I am getting very overwhelmed and anxious these days.

If you received a notice that you are in AP and or your CEAC status shows the same then it would be under review until such time as they get the documents they requested and they look at your file in totality. You are going to need to have a little more patience.

Yes our ceac status still says refused and in AP. I am trying to get the DS-160 resubmitted as soon as I can so that we can go on with this process whatever the process may be. Whether they will put us back in AP or we will go on to the next step.

Also I am not sure if this makes a difference but they had also said in the email that our case qualifies for a national interest exception (NIE)

so I am not sure what that means

That is why they asked you to resubmit DS-160. When they issue the visa make sure that the visa annotations state that you meet NIE. That way you can directly travel to the US. NIE means you are exempt to the Schengen Area proclamation.

Do you think this could mean they are issuing the visa soon?

Don't be confused with AP and AP Refused. At the interview stage they are the same so don't expect it to change from AP Refused to AP giving you any false hope that it will change, and everything will be ok.

It hasn’t changed So I am not getting any false hopes. I’m also not getting confused. I truly understand that this process takes a very long time and anything can happen and that everything will not be ok. It’s already been over 2 years since I started the process and 18 months since we have been in administrative processing. So trust me, when I tell you I truly understand and don’t get my hopes up high I truly mean it
