VJ Moderation

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

No, I agree with you. I'll be officially sad when and if he gets into office.

Although I'm seeing news articles that he's backtracking on some things he said about immediately trying to overturn all immigration policies, so I'll just hope that's the case.

He is mostly talking about southern border, but nothing on Family based immigration. When the new DOS head will come, attitude of USCIS will change, as this is legal immigration not illegal, Biden was talking about asylum seekers, and mostly immigration from south.

Mine was received by the Texas lockbox on Nov 2nd, now we are in January 2021 and still no receipt,  is there anyone else here in the same situation?

Still no word of receipt on my partners application either. Australia post confirmed delivery 6 Nov. I’ve been checking the mailbox and card for charges daily but no update.

I'll also share this here as my package was received by the lockbox facility at the start of November and I'm still without charge or any receipt. So same situation as most everyone (if not all) in this thread.

Contacted USCIS today, the representative said current wait time for receipts they are seeing is about 2 months due to a large influx of applications sent to the lockboxes, with some outliers reaching out to 3 months. I was assured that this is a normal timeframe currently due to the number of applications they have coming in. Though he/she did note that they are not the lockbox facility so they don't have access to more specific details they were able to confirm my package had not been input to the system yet. If I havn't heard anything by the end of the month to follow back up with USCIS support as well, they opened a ticket under my name and date of birth and additionally placed a notification that I had called inquiring about my application status.

I got my Congressman's office to look at it. If enough people do this, it might prompt them to fix a clearly broken system. Even with Covid this is ridiculous. I mean wth? Did they just stop working completely?

This is likely my next step if I don't see movement following what USCIS told me when I called. There was a USCIS shareholder statement published mid December saying they have experienced a large influx and to expect receipts normally within 30 days because of it. However based on the limited number of cases we are seeing on here seemingly no one has responses after 30 work days or 60 calendar days.

Though I think that due to the situation of our petitions still being at the lockbox stage I'm unsure what can actually be done. Ultimately since (I'm assuming) they have no way to pull our specific petitions it's more of a waiting game for them to be placed in the system. Likely the biggest outcome of 3rd party involvement would be preventing future filers from having multiple month delays just for envelopes to be opened.

Our file was received Nov 2, 2020. Contacted USCIS customer service yesterday and was told that there was nothing in the system for us. The agent advised to email the lockbox and so that was done. That's our update so far. We're in our 10th week so we're hoping they sort it out this week and not push it further.

As a datapoint, I mailed my I-129F on Nov 13 and it was delivered to the Dallas Lockbox on Nov 16. I finally just saw the $535 filing fee charged on my account so I guess that means the NOA1 should be coming fairly soon.

This will frustrate those who filed before me and I hope things speed up for everyone — as a follow up on this, I just got home after a 3 week trip overseas to spend time with my fiancée and came home to the NOA1 with a notice date of Dec 18. Didn’t receive a text or email so I was out of the loop on status besides having seen my CC get charged the same day as the notice date on my NOA1 of Dec 18, CA service center. So 1 month after delivery which appears to be on the faster range these days.

Hey all.

My fiancé and I had ours delivered on November 24th. Hoping to get notified in the next week or so. Hard to tell what processing times are doing. Anxious to see some of the peoples here begin to get approved.

Stay positive!

Hi Aaron. This is the stage now that will test your patience. Stay the course.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Does the lockbox email works at all? They only send the auto reply and never hear back from them after

If you're waiting for your NOA1, USCIS is running way behind on the issuance of said document. Don't be concerned, alarmed, anxious, disappointed or any other adverb as they will be there shortly. A delay in the NOA1 is not going to affect you in anyway except it will take longer to adjudicate your case to a NOA2.

Current processing of the issuance for a NOA1 is about 4-6 weeks. You are earlier in your expectations. A couple of key factors to look for is 1) has your tracking indicated the package was received? 2) Has your form of payment been executed? Having those two completed then you are close to receiving your NOA1.

Hi Greenbaum,

It seems you are the pro in here, would like your advice here. My I-129F application is delivered to lockbox on Nov 2nd, and now it’s been more than 2 months, should I keep waiting for NOA1 or I should resend another application. I know lots of early Nov filer are also waiting but would like your thought if resending is an option

thanks,
