Hi everyone,

I have a question.

Do I pay for K1 visa fee and submit form D-160 right after I was assigned case number and invoice number? or do I need to wait and hear from NVC for further instruction?

Thanks

Once you receive you case number you can complete the DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application. Paying the fee and scheduling the appointment all depends on if your embassy is open and processing K-1 cases. Have you checked on the website for your embassy to see what their status is and the next steps in the process? Psst, it will be under "visa's". The only thing that you will hear from NVC is a letter with your case number and it won't be mailed until your case has gone to your embassy.

@PatLuvO No, I'm not. Australia wasn't part of the Presidential Proclamation so as far as I know, that doesn't apply there.

Ok thanks.

That's such exciting news! Our NOA2 came in a little after yours so I hope we will also hear soon. I've already memorised the walk from the different hotels in the area to the Sydney embassy in anticipation :)

@midsummer how cool! I was honestly surprised, I called yesterday to get our case number and she seemed like it would be a while before anything was sent off. Definitely did a happy dance when I got the email! Hopefully yours won’t be too far behind

I'm trying so hard not to call them right now but I know I should wait until at least Friday :D  I wonder how long it takes to send the package to Sydney these days? I hope their internal post is a little faster than regular

Thank you for the clarification. This is very helpful.

Your welcome.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks
