I currently have about 8, maybe 9 days of vacation time saved up. I work from home and miss my wife.

Could I take the test(s) and self quarantine with her for a week before returning back to the US. Self quarantine at home and there is doable for me.

If your just in Manila, yes.  If you have to go outside of Manila, it will depend where you are going.

The United States is now a country obsessed with the worship of its own ignorance.  Americans are proud of not knowing things.  They have reached a point where ignorance, is an actual virtue.  To reject the advice of experts is to assert autonomy, a way for Americans to insulate their increasingly fragile egos from ever being told they're wrong about anything.  It is a new Declaration of Independence: no longer do we hold these truths to be self-evident, we hold all truths to be self-evident, even the ones that arent true.  All things are knowable and every opinion on any subject is as good as any other.  The fundamental knowledge of the average American is now so low that it has crashed through the floor of "uninformed", passed "misinformed", on the way down, and now plummeting to "aggressively wrong."

Currently international travelers are not allowed in to the Philippines until late May or early June 2021.

There are few exceptions if you are married to a Filipino citizen and you have proof of it. If so then you have to obtain a visa at your nearest Philippines embassy or consulate where do you live in order to get one. Then you have to show proof of marriage and other documentation. Another reason would be for humanitarian reasons. At this point they’re granting very few if any visas. Also upon your arrival you’ll be in quarantine and tell your Covid test results are returned to you that can take anywhere between 24 to 48 hours. So if you only have that much time saved up on your vacation time I would highly suggest waiting until they open the borders back up for international travelers.

Conjugal quarantine?  Seems to defeat the purpose.

YMMV

My fiance have a neighbor friend who work in tour guide agency for years. She traveled around Philippines and even other countries as tour guide. She claimed that the agency said Philippines will open to tourism on January. They made her take a swab test in preparation. We don't know how agency would know. But take the rumor with a grain of salt.

It is possible to pay a certified lab to do a 12 hour test.  The longest quarantine in Manila is now 5 days.

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

I just returned from Manila, My test results took only about 20 hours from the test I took at the airport (4500php) Once the test is done you are free to leave after applying for your quarantine certificate and you can go check into another hotel  to quarantine with your wife. Once you leave the first hotel noone checks anything.

Thank you. How long is the test good for? Do I need to schedule another test after I leave?

Did you ever actually get the quarantine certificate? I applied after my negative test and 6 days later I still have not received it. That said the hotel let me check out with the negative test.

I heard it’s good for 72 hours meaning if you get your results and go another condo or hotel it’s still valid. But if you change places and it’s 72 hours later and that place requires another covid test, you would have to do another. I think each condo or each hotel sets their own standards. That’s why it’s best to check out of your quarantine hotel and stay in one spot afterwards.

Updated info would help Though as everything changes usually first of each month.

Yep, I got mine about 4 hours after I sent the form in to apply for it. Simple form just add a picture of your passport.

That is what I did and still nothing despite following up with an email. I don’t really need the certificate as I’m not traveling outside metro Manila, but it’s quite frustrating.
