My USC husband filed 3 petitions for me and our 2 kids. Mine was approved on 21 Oct, and today we received the email from NVC with the instructions. Should we process my case now or do we have to wait for the kids' to be approved before we do anything?

Thank you. But actually, we can't do anything on the portal unless we pay the fees. So, I guess we need to pay first before we can upload the documents, right?

We sent messages to USCIS and NVC about our children's cases. Per USCIS, we were told that the cases are within normal processing times and per NVC, they have not received the cases from USCIS... I believe both are standard template replies.

I searched online and did not find much, if any, about processing multiple petitions. Maybe someone can point me to the right direction. I hope you guys can help me outline our options at the moment.

1. Can we go ahead with my case now? Do we have this option? If so, what will be the implications of not waiting for our children''s cases approval?

2. Can we go ahead and request for expedite processing for the kids?

3. If we pay the fees (AOS and IV) for my case, is there a way we can hold off processing? Should we hold off or not?

I wanted to prepare early and collect all the documents we need so I went to the NBI to secure clearance in advance as this document is good for a year anyway. However, I was told that I need the letter from the US Embassy indicating I need a clearance with AKAs. To me this was really astounding as I think everyone has the right to request for this kind of clearance, regardless.

I'm in a pickle right now and honestly feeling stuck and frustrated. Appreciate your thoughts!

Thank you. This entire process is very inefficient. I don’t understand why family petitions should be adjudicated separately. Anyway, it is what it is.

Thanks for your post.  May I ask a few questions?  I will be filing I-130 petitions for my wife and step-daughter in the Philippines, this week.

Did your husband file the petitions at exactly they same time, or at least very close together?  I was planning to file them online, almost simultaneously, with the hope that they will be very close together in the queue.

In the I-130 online petition, there is a section in Other Information, Other Petitions.  Are you all listed on each others petitions, and thus linked?

Hi. Yes to both your questions. All three petitions were filed online, with about 20 min intervals between each filing. And yes we are all listed on each other’s i-130.

Thank you!

I just wanted to make sure, in case ours get separated in time, like yours did.  I won't be surprised.

I'm sure it will work out.  We just have to have patience.

In my step-daughter's "proof of stepparent/stepchild relationship" and my wife's "additional proof of marriage", I am including a cover page that includes mentioning that the two beneficiaries are linked.  Can't hurt.

So our kids' cases have been approved too! The date is both 19 Nov, and the notices both came from Nebraska Service Center (although we were informed last month that they were in Potomac).

Sorry if this might be a stupid question. Do we need to pay for I-864 thrice???

Also, can we possibly reconcile the cases into one CEAC account?
