Interesting. You should definitely try again. In my case, I only sent an inquiry to NVC to check if I could send an expedite request because of my daughter (14 month old). I was surprised NVC forwarded it to their expedite team because I didn't even attach any evidence. It was only about 3 lines and I honestly didn't expect any positive news from the embassy. My advice would be to try again as soon as possible

Hi, as you suggested, I re-applied (about 2 weeks ago) and the embassy just accepted my expedite request. Thanks for the encouragement. Trust all is well with you and you are  now safely settled in the US.

07 Nov 2019 - IR-1 Submittes Online / Priority Date
17 July 2020 - I-130 Approval Notice (Nebraska Service Center)
15 Sept 2020* - Submitted documents to NVC
01 Oct 2020 -  Case FE Review note: Request to submit marriage termination document.
01 Oct 2020 -  Spouse divorce papers submitted
01 Oct 2020 - DOCUMENTARILY QUALIFIED

Notes:
* Foreign police clearance lost by Fedex - delayed submission to NVC by 6 weeks.

I'm so glad to hear that!!! Hope you get your interview date soon. It took the embassy another 2 weeks to send me an interview appointment letter so don't be stressed out if it takes a while to hear back from them (I was so worried during that waiting period😀). I wish you and your family the very best🙂

Thanks for the info everybody. I didn't know this was even a possibility at this point. I looked into the issue further by calling the NVC at +1 603-334-0700. After holding for around 30 minutes, the call agent told me to submit an expedite request by emailing nvcexpedite@state.gov. He told me to include the NVC case number in the subject line and at minimum the beneficiary's DOB and Invoice ID in the body of the email. Then include all the relevant details justifying the expedite request, including attachments. Once the NVC receives the request, they forward it to the embassy in Accra. I just finished walking my wife in Ghana through sending the email this morning. We're hoping and praying for the best. Thanks again!

Quick update: my wife's expedite request was denied by the embassy. Her case was approved by the NVC back in June 2020 but hasn't been sent to the embassy for interview scheduling. I was hoping the expedite request would move things along. She is the step mother of my 3 year old US citizen daughter and has been taking care of her since she was 6 months old (her birth mother passed away). But maybe they're only considering biological mothers? If you have any advice, let me know. Thanks!

Sorry to hear that. My first attempt was denied as well and I tried again 2 months later with more data and got approved, so don't give up.

In terms of scheduling regular interviews, Ghana is way behind. Most of the DQs (case completed)  from Dec 2019 / Jan 2020 are just now interviewing this Feb 2021.  A DQ from 29 Jan 2020 just posted that he got an interview for March 2021. I also contacted a Feb 2020 DQ that has not been scheduled yet.

So it seems the current time of DQ to Interview has increased further to about 12 to 14 months. But I read yesterday that the Biden Administration is aware of the prolonged times for IR/CR1 filers and is working on how to shorten this time for all countries.

So you just have to be patient.

Much appreciated LBX. I'll definitely keep this in mind and give it another try in the near future. I hope and pray that things move faster under the new administration. Thanks again, and I wish you all the best on your journey

Can anyone confirm that was approved if it was NVC or Embassy that approved your expedite request. If the NVC said it was sent but didn’t say approved is that normal?

It's only the embassy that can approve or reject an expedite request. The only job NVC has when you request for an expedite is to forward your case to the embassy for review. So you'll still need to wait for NVC to let you know the outcome of the embassy's review.
