London never has more than two months open (current and the following month) and they have gotten really strict about choosing a sooner appointment. You have to wait until your appointment date has passed before you can pick a new one.

Is that a rule they follow? Currently there is only one date opened for November (2/11) and nothing for October. Does it mean that next week we can expect more dates?

You have no profile or what visa you are seeking or where you are in the process. It’s hard to answer your questions. One thing I can tell you is for spouse visas such as the person who started this thread and gets to choose his own interview date in London because he did not process at the National Visa Center —— London has never opened up any IR1/ CR1 Spouse visa interviews past November 2020. So something is amiss when you say you booked an appointment for August 2021.

What did you apply for? Where?

Thanks Wuozopo. I'm applying for an R-1 (plus four R-2s for my family). Appreciate your input. Warm regards, Steve

During their Covid operations since reopening, it seems they are dealing out openings fairly sparsely.  Flip back to 2019 when they were fully staffed and needing calendar slots for K1s as well— this week would  have a good choice left in November.  December would be opened up about now (end of month). It isn’t happening like that currently. They had nothing around mid October and opened some November at that time. They don’t seem to be working very far ahead right now on  the “pick your date” calendar. But they also probably don’t have many eligible to pick a date right now. K1s are paused, DCF are winding down and finishing. So some expedites who got released from NVC may  be the only family visas still picking dates off a calendar. The traditional IR1/CR1s are getting dates assigned by NVC.

Yeah that makes sense. But yet, there is still few of us with expedite CR1/IR1 visas and it seems to be really not great with being able to book a slot. Hope they will open some more slots for November soon.
