Well, there goes one of my options. But, I do think they will bring it back for the over 50 club.

They have the SRIV visa now. Also from what I am reading it looks like it is to curtail the POGO industry

Yep, Chinese offshore gambling in both articles. The SRRV was a perfect low cost option for veterans. I think they will bring back the SRRV but raise the age back to 50. The SIRV is not really a cost effective option for retirees. $75K is a little steep.

PDIC only insures like 10K USD, No way I would send 75k to Philippines...

I don't think I would give up all I have in the USA to live full time in Philipppines.

Great place to vacation and spend time, but living there I don't know. Pace is too slow for me

There is always the 13a as well, they will bring back SRRV with more restrictions so people can't abuse it like people are currently.

What is the difference between a 13A and the SRRV?

Seems as if the SRRV requires a cash deposit into a Philippines bank,  and the 13a doesn't.

Why would people get the SRRV?  What is the pros and cons?

Wouldn't the 13a be better option? The SRRV seems like it would be better for a single guy instead?

If your wife should pass away, the 13a is voided unless you have young kids.

Finally done.

Then you could always just go to BI in Philippines and ask for an extension, Tell them you are going to try to find a new wife.

My buddy did that few months ago, but he was on the SRRV and he was about to expire he had to go twice and request an extension and his reason was to look for a wife and they gave him an extension.......
