A little confused. I've seen long form mentioned, but they told us there's only 1 version.

The only other thing you can do is go to the state capital and get a copy from the book of the original, do I need to do that?

The birth certificate needs parents' information. If your BC has it, then that is the correct one.

There is only one version of Mexican birth certificate, so you don't need to get the copy of the original book.

When you read "long form" it is about the American Birth Certificate which, as SteveInBostonI130 said, need the parent's, hospital and doctor information.

I don’t know if you have a birth certificate, if you don’t and you need one, you can get it at the close the Mexican consulate. You need to request it online here https://www.gob.mx/actas

I got details from someone else who is already NVC approved.

We were able to make a request online through the state, pay the fee at OXXO then get cleared to go pick it up.

The link you sent sounds like you print it yourself?

Did you use this?

I would think they wouldn't accept it as an original which you are required to bring to the interview.

So we discovered a kiosk at the mall today where you can have a birth certificate printed.  We already got one,  but maybe this is helpful to others.

The office for police reports is closed,  they said you can get it online and print it yourself.  Unfortunately that won't be good enough for the consulate.

I think you can use the "print yourself" police certificate to upload in the CEAC and later you can get a "more official one" when you go to Ciudad Juarez, that's exactly what I did with my birth certificate.

Unless you have an emergency and you can get an expedite, consider that getting a interview for Ciudad Juarez takes a really long time (for CR1/IR1 it's was a year pre-pandemic but the waiting time might increases once the consulate resumes regular activities) so you will actually have to get a new police record before you go to your interview since the once you uploaded to the CEAC had already expired.

Hope this info is still useful for you!

That's what I realized,  I saw someone even say they only left a comment about bringing one to the interview due to covid and didn't submit a copy and NVC was okay with that.

Thanks for the info.
