"Refused" status online after interview (medical not ready)

Hi all, I had my medical on Oct 15 and my interview on Oct 20 (Frankfurt). The status of my visa online says "refused". I think this is because my medical results are not processed yet. But first it had an Oct 20 date, and then they updated the case today (it says today's date) but it's still "refused". No email from them or any indicator why it's refused (I think there's no reason for it to be - no missing documents, no drug or criminal record, etc.). Has anyone else had this happen? It made me a bit nervous that they updated the date to today's date but still left it as "refused". Thanks.

Dont worry abt it...they probably didnt had your medical at time of interview( if so then officer told you that).. if you werent refused at time of interview then your status will change after they recive medical

CEAC now displays “refused” for all cases post-interview that are not yet approved. They used to use the term “administrative processing” but “refused” is actually more accurate. Your visa is refused until the medical results are received and deemed to be satisfactory. The date updates every time someone touches your case. So maybe today the medical results arrived and an admin person in the mail room updated your case to show “medical results received” for the consular staff. Once someone with authority actually looks at it the case will be touched again. We don’t see all updates, just that the case has been touched. We are never privy to all the various “behind the scenes” activities of visa processing. We only see the actions that matter to us.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

We’re in the same boat... interview was in London on Oct 15th but medical results weren’t there yet our CEAC status has said refused ever since. From what I’ve read we’re fine we just need to be patient and give it some time. Looks like people have been waiting around 3 weeks.
