I got three text messages stating something like "critical alert" from Huntington Bank this week.  Of course I deleted all of them since I do not have any accounts with Huntington, but I do know of some educated people that have fallen for some common scams.  Luckily most of them realized it almost immediately afterward and were able to make some cancellations quickly, but it does happen.

Foreign interests want to undermine the public confidence in the system.  Changing a vote or a mind is not on their agenda. Changing our view of ourselves as a nation is.

 

An example unrelated to the voting process is the Russian sponsored ( I know when you say Russia you trigger the masses here) edit: IRA promoted via Facebook  pro-BLM and Anti-BLM  protests at the same time and location. Hmm, wonder what the goal was there?

 

I see multiple posts in this forum every week about corruption in the voter ID process, mail in ballots are suspect, etc, Voter fraud is out of control that are more than personal views, they can be traced back to active measure campaigns.

 

I don't expect to change any minds, folks who live on supersized junk-news diets are going to get clogged thought processes.  There is not much I can do about that.

It's amazing how the public could ignore an actual influential domestic counterintelligence campaign against the Trump campaign and vote for him anyways, yet the left tinfoil up for "the Russians" and their amazing influence.

Post Citizens United, I have no doubt. The question is really the foreign government / cleptocracy. Involvement in our elections. I know, "we did it first","we do the same"  but the question is, will we defend our country, our systems, our institutions?

I really wasn't commenting on the US and its involvement with elections in other countries, but rather the amount of domestic propaganda generated by US domestic entities to influence the way people vote.  It is not just corporations, but the big superpacs, as well as the US media that are doing everything they can to shape public opinion.  Wouldn't it be nice if we had at least a nominally unbiased media simply reporting facts instead of always trying to influence in either direction?
