*~*~*country-specific question moved to United Kingdom sub-forum*~*~*

It was 4 years ago and before COVID obviously but October 20, 2016 was the day I got CC (as it was called then) from NVC. My interview was December 6. About 6 weeks is a good estimate.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

I'm sorry to say this but I was DQ on May 30 and my interview is on November 2nd- 5 months. I was a very straightforward case, no REF, CR1, everything had moved so quickly and smoothly up until this point.

I wouldn't set your hopes on interviewing before 2021 :(

I guess your case, and others of your time-period are what have been categorised as the 'backlog' cases?
Did you request to be expedited, or has this been the standard processing timeline?

As upsetting as it is, I completely agree with your comment regarding a 2020 interview.

My case is literally as straightforward as they come- we submitted Nov 1, approved April 30, DQ May 30, and that's where it all went ridiculous! I tried to expedite based on the fact it had been 5 months, but they rejected my expedite request and I just had to wait. I think the combination of a backlog due to corona and revised operating procedures have put everything on delay. I think 4-5 months looks to be about average as of now.

Ouch. Did you request/was your case expedited?
Have you received any news since the 15th?

Case wasn’t expedited although I did try to expedite it 3 times but they said no lol At his interview the medical results weren’t there so he got a 221g waiting on them to review the medical stuff and issue visa. Everything takes so long 😭

Filed: IR-1/CR-1 Visa Country: England

Congratulations on the DQ! It’s a big deal. As for how long until the interview, that’s the million dollar question. They continue to site the backlog of cases, Covid, limited staff... but then I’ve read they don’t work weekends, don’t work holidays, and don’t work overtime. We’re coming up on the holidays and so many of us are going to be spending them without our loved ones. Based on what I’ve read, without expediting, I’m guessing 4-5 months from DQ. It’s a hard path we’ve chosen. Best to you. I hope we can all be reunited with loved ones soon.

We DQ' July 1st, interview scheduled for Nov 17th. So 4.5 months for us, faster than most I have seen on here. 5 months give or take a week seems the most standard response I have seen. So I would expect you to get an interview in March, the earlier end of March if you are lucky.

Does anyone know if London embassy is still open and conducting interviews given that London is in Tier 4?

It seems they are planning to continue with the scheduled appointments during Janaury. Some people have reported January appointments being rescheduled for early Feb, but not all. There is a seperate topic thread for IR1/CR1 London Appointment Updates that is super helpful! I don't know how to link it here, but if you look for it you should find it!
