To All - I just spoke to the U.S Embassy Manila folks....a Advisory of Marriage for the US born petitioner is NOT required.  CFOs may be asking the beneficiaries during their interviews if they have one....nd they will accept it, however, they will not be given a 221g if they don't have (since it is not a mandatory requirement based on their documents checklist).

Yay!  Thanks for checking with the embassy and updating us here.  One less thing for me to worry about.

Hi. I just had my interview this morning. I have my CEMAR but wasnt able to get for my husband. My husband is a US born citizen as well. They asked for my husband’s Cemar during the interview. I wasnt able to provide any but my visa was still approved.

Wait...I know this is an old post, but if anyone sees this I'd like to know if we do not need the visa first before attending CFO? I was under the impression that visa is needed before we can get the CFO sticker based on my experience petitioning for my dad back in 2019. Now we are in the process of petitioning his wife so answer will be greatly appreciated.

As of now, no visa is required for the CFO.  There are a number of people who have done this already without the visa.  You can schedule the CFO by the email they have and if you write during their business hours, you may be able to set it up very quickly and do it within a few days time.

The United States is now a country obsessed with the worship of its own ignorance.  Americans are proud of not knowing things.  They have reached a point where ignorance, is an actual virtue.  To reject the advice of experts is to assert autonomy, a way for Americans to insulate their increasingly fragile egos from ever being told they're wrong about anything.  It is a new Declaration of Independence: no longer do we hold these truths to be self-evident, we hold all truths to be self-evident, even the ones that arent true.  All things are knowable and every opinion on any subject is as good as any other.  The fundamental knowledge of the average American is now so low that it has crashed through the floor of "uninformed", passed "misinformed", on the way down, and now plummeting to "aggressively wrong."

My wife just received mine and hers. I ordered it online just to be safe. Her interview is on 2/11

Visa in the passport is required to get the "sticker" from CFO.   Visa is not required to attend CFO-GCP seminars  (For PDOS seminar the visa is required to attend).   Last I heard they are currently not competing the seminars
