You never submit an original unless it is SPECIFICALLY requested

Are you the USC petitioner or the beneficiary?

 

If you are the petitioner, then are you talking about the birth certificate that the hospital gave your parents?  If so, bear in mind that is not an official birth certificate.

Should I just send in copies of all the pages of my passport instead? It is valid until December 2021 and was valid for 10 years?

Ah, yep, that is the correct one.))

I'm about to send in the I-129F.

 

Reading online I see that people have been given RFEs for sending in their short form birth certificates instead of their long form versions. I'm nervous mine is a short-form birth certificate.

You can send a copy of the bio page of your passport as proof of US Citizenship.

I can send both the copy of the birth certificate and passport just to be sure, correct?

You only need to send one.  Both is not required.

 

Edit:. If you send a copy of your passport, make sure it is still valid (unexpired)

Does yours include parental information?
