Hiring overseas worker, eventual L1-B?

I have a small business and have hired someone overseas for local operations in that country.

I can setup a subsidiary company for this purpose or I can hire the person directly.  We may eventually go through the L1-B process.  Assuming everything else is covered (specialized knowledge, etc) is it better to be hired directly, or work at a subsidiary?

I believe you should confer with a business accountant or council.  There are tax and legal issues at play that could have significant financial impact.  If you just want to know about impact for immigration, a corporate immigration lawyer could provide detailed information.

Edit:  For immigration, it should have little impact if the employee is a direct corporate hire or a subsidiary hire, but an immigration lawyer can provide better information.
