Translating Your Own Electricity Bill for I-130

Hi everyone,

My wife, a U.S. citizen, and I, an Austrian citizen, both study and live in Vienna, Austria, and will be applying for my I-130 soon, to hopefully move to the US once we are done with grad school.

We live together and pay our bills together.

For the I-130, we are adding our elecrity bill as additional proof of bona fide marriage. Since our electricity company only issues bills in German, I was wondering if this needs to be officially translated, or if I can do it myself. I was also wondering if it is enough to simply attach a short explanation of the bill in English.

Thank you for your help!

If you search the forum about translating, you'll see you can do it yourself.

I was just approved and I translated the marriage certificate myself and included a certification.

There's a template somewhere in the forum.

Since I am new around here, I don't know my way around the forums quite yet. I will look for the forum about translating!

self translation is always acceptable  by USCIS/DOS unless OTHER specified for certified translation. Of course you should be fluent in both languages and certify that what you have translate is true

duh
