Expediting EAD and AP separately

Hi all,

Thanks for all the insightful info on this forum - it has helped a lot. I just had a question on expedition and if it will impact my application adversely in any way:

About me: Filed I765/I131/I485 back in February; AOS through marriage; NBC; PD date 02/18, Biometrics (rescheduled and done) - 10/14. I raised a service request back on September 21 and even though its past the expected response date, I have not yet heard any updates. My case continues to be in received status on USCIS.

I called today to expedite my case because of two things: 1) I have a job offer that is going to expire in November and 2) My sister hasn't been doing well mentally

The case agent today on the phone was very helpful and helped me put in an expediting request. However, I am confused because it seems that he put in two requests: one for expediting AP and one separately for EAD - however, the category that I was raising the expediting request was mainly based on "severe financial loss" as this seems to be best bet as my job offer will expire if I do not have an EAD but wanted to offer additional reasons as to why I needed to expedite. I was under the assumption the EAD/AP combo would be raised together but now it looks like I have two expediting request and they already asked me additional documents (aka doctor's note) for the AP expedite  - and while I have a lot of support on my sister needing help, I don't have a formal doctor prognosis or treatment plan as getting her help is one of the reasons I need to go back. I just already feel that they are going to deny based on what I have seen what needs to be provided.

My question is 1) if I get denied for the I-131 request, will this impact my I765 expediting request and 2) should I just wait for them to reach back out on my request on I-765 before responding to the I131 request? and 3) what's my likelihood of getting my expedition approved based on submitting evidence of my job offer?

Appreciate all the help everyone has provided here.

re- EAD 765 and AP 131. Two different petitions for two different things. They just issue them both on one card (combo card) for convenience. They can be issued separately and/or expedited separately.  If one applies for and gets an expedited EAD it very well may be an EAD only. Often they do go in and approve the 131 to issue a combo card when doing an expedited EAD but they dont have to. Usually for expedited AP you only get the AP travel document though.

Handle your 2 expedites as 2 expedites. They each need their own documents and will be evaluated independently however they will have access to your entire file and will see the contradiction in asking for expedited work permit (implies you need to work in the US immediately) and are also asking for permission to leave the US (and have the funds to do so) simultaneously.
