Did you schedule a medical exam ? You know how long it takes to get an exam result !!?

We completed our medical at NMC yesterday. It was walk-in. They said the results will be ready in 10 days. Apparently they are overwhelmed and that's why results take so long.

It took us 6 hours to complete the medical, it was very slow! If anyone is planning to go soon, make sure you calculate extra time for it in case they are running as they were yesterday.

Congrats!! Do you have any idea why it takes so long from being DQ'd to being sent to the abu dhabi embassy?

Not sure if I should expedite - its been 3 months since we've been DQ'd at NVC

I'm guessing the pandemic is the biggest reason why it takes so long. It's sad to see so many lives put on hold because they are stuck in this process.

Our case was DQ and at NVC for almost 18 months. I know of others that are still waiting and some categories have individuals with DQ dates from March 2020 that are still waiting.

Honestly if you believe you have grounds to expedite then I don't see why not? I don't think it hurts to try. Just make sure you include thorough evidence. I'm not sure of your circumstance but I have heard it helps if the hardship (whatever it may be) is focused on the petitioner.

Did anyone’s appointment get canceled?

We received an email stating that our appointment in 2 weeks has been canceled without any explanation. This is for our K1 visa.

Could the current events with Yemen be causing this?

I don't know. But I did check the Abu Dhabi US embassy page, and due to both COVID and drone attacks, they added a rather scary/worrisome travel advisory for US citizens (the travel advisory directed to this link: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/traveladvisories/united-arab-emirates-travel-advisory.html)

That might have something to do with it (although I hope not). This is taking forever already.

I wish you all the best and hope this long grueling process comes to an end sooner than later.

This is just an alert to us citizens not others!

I've been to the embassy last Wed, 2 Feb, 2022 for a B1/B2 visa interview and it was packed with people for interviews both immigrant and non immigrant. My appointment was 9:00am, I arrived 8:45am and been in queues till I finished at 11:20 am. They've approved my visit visa despite knowing that I have an immigrant petition in queue awaiting consular processing which was good surprising news.

The good thing is that they're back to normal operations as it seems, also a lot of immigrant interviews was taking place, couldn't help notice that a lot of those was from Philippines.
