Hello guys please I need ur help please after the interview in Abu Dhabi and visa approved and sent to the post office,  Do they give u ur passport and a sealed envelope to hand it to the US officer at the port of entrance in to the USA ? Has anyone gotten such experience. Am clueless on what the applicant will receive back from the post office

When I got my visa in 2014, the post office process was for residents of UAE only. Those like me who were living in other countires would keep their passports so they could fly back to their country after the interview. I then checked the status of visa on the embassy's website and when the visa was ready after 4 months, I sent my passport to the embassy and they stamped the visa same day. Anyone holding the receipt that you get at the interview can take your passport to the embassy to have the visa stamped. In my case, I hired a travel agency who provided this service and they took my passport to UAE and returned it back to me after the visa was stamped.

They will update after 15th each months .may be tomorrow.

Still, the visa issuances are not yet updated as of today.  So frustrating that we have no idea how many IV applicants has been interviewed in AD US Embassy.  But, the backlog report has been updated l ast month, September.

If those numbers won’t help us to figure out how much longer we need to wait !

My wife is currently in Iraq, so similar situation to you. I've been DQ since October 2020. I heard that Iraqis and Iranians are not getting visas to enter the UAE due to the ban the emerates imposed On us (I think there's 18 or so more countries on that list). However there's no further information on that ban and whenever I ask I don't get a clear answer. I think this could be why we haven't gotten any interviews because I know people who have their case in turkey and it's going fast for them.

This article came out last year, saying it was a secret move. I'm not sure if this effected our cases or not, that's why I'm trying to get more information on it. Iraq and Iran are both on this list. Is your spouse/fiance living in the UAE right now or out of the country?
