One small inquiry i received an interview letter for my case on June 2021. I would like to know do i need to take a separate appointment for biometric.

i have done the registration and awaiting the medical. Could you please guide me on this do i need to take a separate appointment for biometric.

Hi,

no need to book any appointment for the biometric , it will be done at the embassy with the interview. And about the medical, you have to go directly to NMC with the required documents to do the medical.

Hello everyone, congrats for all who got their interviews, I have a question my wife is from Iraq and since the US embassy in Iraq is not conducting any immigration visa interviews, we have been transferred to Abu Dhabi my case was DQ in July 2020 but we haven't heard from the Abu Dhabi embassy yet, my question is, were you guys all residents of UAE? is there any one who have been transferred from Iraq and got their interview?

Do I have to pay an Immigrant visa fee after entering US for my green card? I have been in US for 4 months now still haven’t received my green card . Please help

thanks

If you are immigrating to the United States as a lawful permanent resident, you must pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee online  .

e strongly encourage you to pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee after you pick up your immigrant visa from the Department of State and before you depart for the United States.

If you cannot pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee, a family member, friend, employer, attorney, or accredited representative can pay for you. If someone pays the fee for you, they will need your Alien Number (A-Number) and Department of State (DOS) Case ID.

You may also pay the fee after you arrive in the United States. If you choose this option, we will send you a notice requesting payment with instructions on paying your fee. You will not receive your Green Card until you have paid the USCIS Immigrant Fee.

How to Pay the Fee

You must pay the fee online. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate will give you your:

  • A-Number (the letter “A” followed by 8 or 9 numbers);
  • DOS Case ID (3 letters followed by 9 or 10 numbers);
  • Instructions for paying the USCIS Immigrant Fee;
  • Immigrant Data Summary; and
  • Sealed immigrant visa packet.

If you are a Diversity Visa immigrant, your DOS Case ID will have 4 numbers followed by 2 letters and 5 more numbers (for example: 0000AB01234).

Hello all,

Hope you are doing well and your interviews are smooth. Any update from the embassy on how fast they are working on scheduling interviews for such a large amount of pending cases. I have applied for my wife and am still waiting. DQ was Mar 2021. But I guess there are too many disturbances in the region and most of the cases are transferred to the UAE which is strange. How about moving some of this load to Qatar instead? Is that not a possibility? Has anyone questioned on this?

Thanks and regards,

Hi Everyone,

Congratulations to everyone getting their interviews! Does anyone know how quickly you get your passport back after the interview date? I have my interview Tuesday morning 9.30 and I have a flight Friday morning (family emergency). I do have a second passport, but I'm sure everyone here can relate to the feeling of actually picking up your passport with the Green card as soon as possible!

Best,

Mia

It's possible to get the passport with visa after a few days, but highly unlikely.

Also, you won't get a green card with your passport.  You'll get an immigrant visa.  Without a CBP stamp, it's just a visa.

Hi Chancy,

Got it, I'm trying to make other arrangements for pick-up. I just heard other who had received it within 2 days, so I was curious if it was common.

 Noted on your green card comment - my reference was more to "Now I can go to the US and actually stay".

Thanks for the quick feedback!
