Well I've been admitted into the class that I wanted to do (yey) and my question is do I need an EAD to do an externship as part of my course? I wont be paid for working, its just for the clinical experience and hours. Thanks.

Hmm... need to read better in the future.

Its still a grey area I would say. My gut says that yes, you probably need an EAD legally, it all depends on whether the "employers" will require you to sign an I-9 to start the internship.

I'm bumping this up again as I'm still unclear. The externship (its not actually an internship) will be part of my college course, for experience. I will be under 'Pima county college' and will have no contract with the actual dental office I'll be assisting. There is no way that I will be paid and it is necessary for completing my course. I'm hoping that by the time I'll be doing this (Jan) I'll have my greencard, but there's always that possibility.

well i would say if it is in jan and you applied for EAD than you should be more than fine even if you didnt get ur GC yet
