We saw Gorillas in the Bronx zoo - amazing how humanlike they are in the flesh. Never really got that sense from photographs or TV. The baby gorilla's mannerisms weren't all that dissimilar from a human toddler. It was pretty amazing.

Humans are the only creatures whos brains lateralize function intto left brian/right brain stuff. Everything else has a left and right brain do the exact same thing. So we get a big "big brain" bonus without actually having a bigger brian. Thats why we are typically right handed. Left handers are interesting - sometimes the left and right brains switch 100% mirror copy, but more often than not there is an unusual lateralization pattern. [/geek]
