Very (very!) old speeding ticket

Hi all,

I have my the interview next month, and I'm a bit concerned about a very old speeding tickets (1990s). I was pulled over and got a $70-$75 speeding ticket in Montana. I paid immediately, but have no proof of it. I got that state's public record printout, but it says it does NOT include civil traffic offenses prior to 2017. I also got a letter from the Montana DMV that they have no record of me. My driving record has no tickets in it. So even though I have some documentation, I can't prove COMPLETELY that I paid the fine.

Would that be a problem? I have another speeding ticket from 2017, but there I have all the proof of payment & online class completion (also in AZ, if you have no tickets in the year beforehand, a single, civil speeding ticket is deleted from the driving record upon completing the online class).

Forgot to mention that I reported both tickets on my online n-400, mentioned that they were both paid, and attached my driving record.

Getting a citation for speeding does not make you a bad person. It is good you mentioned it on the N400. If you traffic citation was more than 500 dollars then it would had been a problem but i think you should be good. We are all humans and do make mistakes traffics citation dont make you a bad person by any means. if you would had arrested for drinking and driving for example that would be a problem but in this case i dont see it.

It is good you mentioned both citations in your N400 form. The instructions of the N400 states clearly that you have to mention all citations but you do NOT have to provide evidence if less than $500. So you are good and there is nothing to worry about. I will advice, however, to get copies of whatever documents you have (those yu mentioned in your post) to your interview and use the ONLY if requested, I mean do not volunteer to present any evidence. Good luck.
