Hi everyone!

We filed our I-130 (spouse visa) in August 20 of 2019 and our NOA1 was sent from Nebraska Service Center.

We were continuously checking the USCIS timetable and when our case was not approved by the receipt date for a case inquiry, we sent a message to USCIS. They told us that our case was actually being processed in Vermont Service Center and that our case looked good but they couldn't give us more information. Did this ever happen to any of you???

Since we are in VSC, the date for a case inquiry is now June 05, 2018. That will make that our case will take almost two years for NOA1-NOA2 step. ¿Any ideas why could have gone wrong in our case? ¿Are any of you in the same situation??

Thanks,

Anderson and Rebecca

Cases are transferred between service centers all the time, for various reasons.  Yours is likely undergoing required petitioner background checks.  There is no way to waive or expedite the process.

US immigration requires patience.

I would email your congressman or representative. Two years is too long and is unacceptable. Background checks don't take 2 years, don't listen to anyone. Be active and see if it makes a difference is my suggestion.

Thanks for your advice. It seems odd also because they are supposed to notify you when they change your case to a new center and we never received official notice of this. Thanks!
