I-485/I-130 Received Biometrics Appointment but just found out that Request for Initial Evidence had been sent 5 months ago and lost in the mail.

never received the request for Initial Evidence, and the case status on the account keeps saying my case has been received. Case status says that they sent me the Request for Initial Evidence.

USICS sent mailed it on May 6th, long time ago.  I've been trying to call the line but getting to a representative is impossible. The system refuses to do that and it has changed and doesn't allow pressing menu buttons. I've just submitted request to receive the information via USCIS website (lost mail request, they will reply by Nov 6) but I'm concerned about the amount of time, if any, I have left to reply to the RFIE.

Does this mean my mom (she is the petitioner) has been out of status since RIE means your status doesn't change until all necessary docs have been received?

Has anyone had experience with this situation? Also how could they request for biometrics if they are missing docs? My case is with NBC.
