I'm the petitioner... my fiance has his interview in the middle of next month. I might not be able to work for a while (likely two weeks) I have some PTO and enough savings put away so financially I am okay. I'm just worried that it'll look bad having a slimmer pay stub for this pay period.

I'm so frustrated I could cry. I thought that this covid thing wasn't going to hinder our process anymore but, sure enough...

how to remedy this without wrecking this entire process guys? Could I submit a letter from my employer as proof? (exposed to two covid-positive people at my workplace)

They will look at your hourly rate and by the time you have your interview you should be back to normal hours?

YMMV

@payxibka here's the funny thing too. I only recently got a .50 cent raise so I was thinking that things are looking great...then this happens. should I include an explanation on the pay stub in question or just skip that stub completely and include everything else? I'm having my fiance print stubs from clear back in july (I get paid bi-weekly)

Not sure how your consulate is but I don't think you should worry about that. Your w2 and tax documents should show adequate income. Our paystubs were not even collected. If your consulate asks just be honest. Your situation is not uncommon during this time

Does your consulate instructions mention anything about what financial evidence they want?

YMMV

Your embassy is only asking for the I-134, Affidavit of Support but to support that we recommend that you also have available to present to the CO your Tax Transcript for the current filing (2019 if you were to interview today), a letter from your employer stating your position, how long you have been with the company and your pay on their letterhead. It can be signed by your HR department or your immediate supervisor. Also, include 6 months of pay stubs.

Did you asked in your regional sub- forum about that? Are paystubs even needed? What have others experienced?

Don't go crazy about one pay period, it's easily explained if someone asks. Unless your financial situation is already borderline to what is needed, then you might want to prepare a co-sponsor.

Most companies are required to pay up to two weeks of sick leave if it is due to coronavirus, even if the employee has not accrued this much. It is part of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act.

Your W2 and tax transcripts should be more than enough. Unless they ask for your latest paystub (which is really rare), do not volunteer your situation.

Be careful in your answers. Every embassy's requirements are NOT the same. If you have a source that is reflective of the OP's embassy include it in your response. I'm sure you don't want the OP to make a mistake and go on "should be's" and "unless". At the interview it's a little too late to not have had what is required from the P3 letter from the embassy. Just keeping it real.

I actually emailed the embassy and received an answer very quickly! they actually told me that my tax transcript should be sufficient.

My husbands paystubs were not asked for at the interview. Just his tax docs like above.
