Hey guys! It's my first time posting. I got married in LA and it's taking them a long time to produce a marriage certificate. I'm running out of time and my EAD expires at the end of Jan2021. My plan is to apply for green card with EAD. Right now, I was told that it would be slower because of COVID-19 and the election. Should I send my application with a customer's copy marriage license or wait for the certificate? If I submit my application now with a customer's copy marriage license and possible get a RFE or a denied case. If I get the RFE, does it extend the processing period?

An RFE not only extends the initial processing but it also suspends EAD processing until the i485 resumes.

I wouldn't.  Such 'placeholder' attempts can now result in an outright denial, which means another application with full fee.
