But why would you want to give information which they would use against you?

I'm not sure I understand this comment.

I don't know what could be "used against me".

The procedure that I was familiar with didn't happen, and the process was out of the ordinary.  I was simply questioning if anyone else had experienced anything similar.  To that end, this thread has been helpful.

Questions such as:

- Have you ever been a member of a terrorist group?

- Have you ever done work for your home countries Government?

- Is your intent in the USA to commit espionage against the United States?

- Have you ever murdered one or more persons?

- Do you have any intent on overthrowing the US Government?

The only marriage related questions was:

- When did you get married?

- What address do you live at?

My wife was asked those exact same questions in our AOS interview. The IO read them right off the list he had in front of him. She answered with no issues, but those were the exact same questions he asked, so sounds the same.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. I know the costs involved in this whole game of immigration, and if I can save you some money I will!

My wife and I were separated during our Adjustment of Status interview.  In fact, they never called me in.  For her, they asked her very few questions about our marriage, mostly national security questions.

Has anyone else had this happen?  I'm reviewing others posts, and this feels like an unusual situation.

The national security questions are just the standard questions on the form that she had already answered in writing and they're just asking them in person. This happens to everyone. It was quite jarring to be asked "Have you ever been a prostitute?" by someone with a straight face but it's just the usual procedure.

And she's from Philippines, right?  Filipina women are probably in one of the lowest risk group of immigrants for things such as espionage.  Sounds like someone was reading verbatim from the handbook, rather than responding to actual concerns.

Those are just the regular questions from the form. Everyone gets asked those questions, it means nothing.

OK, I looked this up.  If this were a Stokes interview, they would have also interviewed me.  I was never called in, nor did they speak to me.  Just her.  She said it was extremely friendly, but nearly all of the questions were related to national security.  The only relationship questions were "What date did you get married" and "What address do you live at?"

What is a stokes interview?

The ONLY other thing I can think of is that I'm in the process of updating my government security clearance, and I do know a lot of questions came up about my being married to a foreign national.  So I'm wondering if this is possibly all connected?

A Stokes interview can  happen at anytime , Interview for a Visa, ROC, AOC.   We had one, lasted maybe 5 minutes, interview us apart, asked, how many dogs we have?, Who feeds them?, how many languages does each other speak?  and if either one of us smoked.    That was it.    Unusual questions asked, but simple when its a true relationship.

We passed the Stokes interview with ease, but issued a NOID.   They wanted my registered divorce Cert . from Egypt.    Supplied that a month later, and approved the following month

So I have the question about AOS interview. They separated my spouse and I for the interview today. Everything seems to have gone well but we have no idea if we got approved or not. How long does it take after interview to know if one got approved or not?

Few hours to a few weeks

YMMV

They asked her to see if you had talked to her about anything related to your clearance application. They know what you've said on an application, by asking her they were trying to see if there was any "pillow talk" going on that would/could result in your denial for clearance.

Not my first rodeo. I know better than to talk about classified information with anyone, including my wife.
